Coast To Coast ridden by Josh Micheals
Josh arrived to the barn just as Candi was walking Coast, a chestnut colt towards the track. He was all tacked up and ready to go. He looked at his watch to see if he was late or something. Nope... just on time. 6am. Hey He said to her and smiled. His eyes ran over the colt as he followed along. He looked fit. Nice.... He couldn't wait to get on him and ran.. He was excited to see how he ran. This one is a bit.... stubborn Candi said trying to think of the right words to call him. His name is Coast to Coast. Coaster as I like to call him. She said and smiled, glancing at the colt as he pranced along side of her. He was getting excited. He seemed to sense what was going to happen. That he was going to get to run. The colt pinned his ears back and pranced forward, pulling on the lead. His thrashed his head around and snorted, getting impatient. Coast was an interesting colt. He came from unknown lines, but Candi had high hopes for him. He seemed to be in great condition. This colt is a dirt runner. Short distances also... Candi mumbled to Josh as she walked the excited colt in a circle. She motioned to Josh, and gave him a leg up. She unclipped the lead once Josh had the reins. Coast immeditanly started to make his way on the track without Josh telling him too. He has a mind of his own... Josh whispered to himself.. He shook his head and adjusted himself in the saddle.. Lets do this... He whispered as he urged the colt in a trot to warm him up. After he was done warming the colt up and he felt he was ready, Josh cued him to gallop. The colt pinned his ears back and bolted forward, galloping. He ran like a mad man down the track. Like someone was chasing him. Easy boy.. Josh whispered and pulled back on the reins, controlling him. He didn't want the colt to burn out or injury himself. The colt sure did have speed and the will to win. He had his own mind to how her wanted to run.... I wonder how he would do in a race... or running with another horse.. Josh thought... Candi needed another Jockey... Or she needed to sure riding herself.... But since the bad accident she hadn't gotten back on a horse... After galloping for a few furlongs, Josh pulled the colt to a canter, then a trot. He started cooling the colt off. When he was done, he dismounted and returned the colt to the barn.
